Welcome to the Privacy Policy for Habitual: The Grand Journey, a gamified habit-tracking RPG. This application is designed with absolute privacy at its foundation, allowing you to focus on your self-improvement without worrying about who is harvesting your personal routines.

1. No Registration Required

Habitual requires absolutely no user accounts, passwords, or emails. You simply install the application and begin your expedition immediately. Your habits, streaks, and characters are entirely personal to you.

2. SwiftData Local Storage & Secure CloudSync

To respect your data ownership, we employ Apple’s standard secure frameworks:

  • On-Device Storage: All habits, logs, backpack items, unlocked relics, maps, and progression metrics are stored locally on your device using Apple’s modern SwiftData framework.
  • Private iCloud Container: If you turn on cross-device syncing, your database syncs securely via Apple CloudKit using your native Apple ID. This synced database is hosted in Apple’s end-to-end encrypted Private Database container. We (the developers) have absolutely zero access to your database or backup.

3. Third-Party Libraries & Payment Verification

To provide subscription features and maintain optimal gameplay metrics, we use two privacy-first third-party integrations:

  • RevenueCat (Pro Subscription Verification): To handle your Habitual PRO subscription receipts, we integrate with RevenueCat. RevenueCat validates receipts securely using a system-generated anonymous user ID. All checkout billing and credit card handling are processed directly by the Apple App Store.
  • TelemetryDeck (Aggregated Game Analytics): To balance our random encounter rates, item drops, and biome progression, we collect anonymous usage indicators via TelemetryDeck. TelemetryDeck cryptographically hashes and aggregates data before it leaves your device, ensuring it contains no personal information, names, or location data.

4. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

Because we do not collect your name, email address, physical location, or IP addresses, we have no identifying records to share, view, or delete. If you wish to delete all records associated with Habitual, you can wipe them entirely by deleting the app from your device.
